I never imagined I’d be writing this.
Starting Mindful Clinic has been one of the biggest and most exciting (and yes, slightly terrifying!) decisions of my life. But every step has been worth it — because at the heart of this journey is something deeply important: helping people take back control of their minds, their lives, and their well-being.
Why I Started
Mindful Clinic was born out of a simple but powerful idea: What if we could teach people how to rewire their own brains?
After years of studying psychology, human behaviour and hypnotherapy, I realised that people don’t just need support — they need tools. Tools to calm anxious thoughts, break habits, shift their mindset, and genuinely feel better, and not just temporarily. For good.
I saw the huge impact modern hypnotherapy and solution-focused approaches were having in clinical practice and knew I wanted to bring that to more people — in a way that felt grounded, personalised, and genuinely uplifting.
The Vision
Mindful Clinic isn’t just about therapy. It’s about empowerment.
Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, low mood, ADHD, menopause symptoms, phobias, struggling to quit smoking or even looking to improve performance in sport or in your professional life — we use a blend of psychology and clinical hypnotherapy to help you shift from feeling stuck to feeling capable, calm, and in control again.
We don’t dwell on the past. We focus on where you’re going, and how to get you there with your brain on board.
A Bit About the Brain (Because It’s Fascinating)
Here’s the thing: our brains are changeable. Really changeable. Through the power of neuroplasticity, we can literally re-train the mind to think differently, react differently, and feel differently. It’s not magic — it’s science. But it does feel magical when someone walks out of a session lighter, clearer, and hopeful for the first time in ages.
More Than a Clinic
From day one, I knew I wanted Mindful Clinic to stand for something more.
That’s why part of our mission is to make support more accessible. We’re working on ways to use funding from corporate wellbeing programmes to provide low-cost or free therapy to those who can’t easily afford it. It’s early days, but it’s a cause I’m deeply passionate about.
So, What’s Next?
I’ll be sharing more tips, insights, and behind-the-scenes thoughts here on the blog — from brain hacks and stress-reduction tools to real stories and expert advice. If you’re curious about therapy, or just want to feel a little more human and a little less overwhelmed, this is the place for you.
Thanks for being here. I’m so excited to grow this community and continue helping people feel like themselves again — or maybe even better.
With calm,
Dr Sharon Bateman
